Tight Buffering Line OFC 42

Rosendahl's Extrusion Technology is the core technology for the Tight Buffering Line OFC 42. The extruder is optimized for this process and a wide variety of polymers. New solutions like spray cooling troughs and automatic dual take-ups enable efficient production with short set-up time and minimized scrap.

Fiber UV Coating System FUS:
Nextrom has developed new components to facilitate the conversion of existing factory equipment to produce a variety of new, buffered fiber designs. The Fiber UV Coating System FUS contains a large capacity heated acrylate supply system, a coating applicator and a UV lamp system. The FUS is easily incorporated into a tandem buffering line to produce 400 or 500-micron diameter acrylate buffered fibers over-coated to 900-micron diameter with traditional thermoplastic. The final product combines the fire-retardants of traditional outer materials with a soft inner buffering layer to enhance performance. Another possibility is to use the FUS in tandem with a jacketing line. The FUS would produce a 900-micron diameter buffered fiber to allow the manufacture of patch cords in one step by eliminating a separate tight buffering operation. The individual components developed for the FUS can also be used to upgrade traditional coloring machines, thus allowing the efficient high-speed manufacture of 400 - 900-micron diameter fire-retardant buffered fibers.
